Barley Meat SoupCuisine: Meat Category: Soups Servings: 10 Ingredients:2 tbs oil2 med chopped onions 2 cups grated carrots 4 quarts water 2 lbs flanken 2 lbs soup bones 1 1/4 cups barley 1/2 cup split peas 1/4 baby lima beans 1 tbs kosher salt 1/2 tsp pepper 2 Badia seasoning pkgs 4 beef bullion cubes 1/2 oz dried mushrooms Instructions:Sear meat in pot. Add & saute onions and carrots in oil til tender about 10 min. Add , 3 quarts of water and bones. Bring to boil and skim foam. Add all other ingredients, except mushrooms. Dissolve bullion in last qt water & add. Add other seasoning. Cook for 1 1/2 hrs. Add mushrooms and cook for another hour. Adjust seasoning to taste.
