BBQ Ribs EstherCuisine: Pesach Category: Beef Servings: 10 Ingredients:8 lbs flanken1 cup chopped onions 1 tsp minced garlic 1/4 cup oil 2 tsp prepared mustard 2 cups tomato puree 1 cups brown sugar +1/2 cup 2 tbs soy sauce 1 cup vinegar 2 bay leaves 1 tsp BBQ spice 1 tsp hot pepper sauce (optional) 2 tsp salt Instructions:Saute onions, garlic in oil til golden. Add all other ingredients and simmer for 15 min. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add up to 1/2 cup brown sugar if needed. It should have a sweet & sour taste. This can be made in advance & refrigerated. It will stay a long time because it has vinegar. Arrange ribs in baking pan. Brush sauce generously over ribs. Cover with foil & bake @ 375 about an hour or 1 12 hours. Bake until ribs are soft. Uncover & bake for another 20 min. Can be frozen. Hint: if flanken are cut thin, Cover and bake for 1/2 hr, uncover for 1-1 1/2 hrs. Test for doneness.
