Apple Shtrudel

Ingredients:

2 frozen puff pastry sheets
4 tbs sugar
2 tbs flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbs lemon rind
4 large granny smith apples
4 tbs craisins or raisins


Instructions:

Thaw pastry sheets at room temperature for 20 min. Preheat oven to 375. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon. Peel, core and thinly slice apples. Toss with sugar flour mix. Unfold 1 pastry sheet on lightly floured surface. Roll into 16x12 rectangle. With short side facing you, spoon 1/2 apple mixture 1" from the end & roll up jelly roll style. Place seam side down on lined cookie sheet & tuck in ends. Brush with orange juice & sprinkle sugar on top. Cut slits every 2" apart on top. Bake for 35 min or until lightly brown. Slice while still a little warm. Serve warm or cold. Pastry sheet rolls easier if sandwiched in between 2 pcs. of cling wrap. Wet counter slightly first so it clings to counter.
