Cuisine: Parve

Category: Dessert

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

3 (8 oz) parve whipping cream
2 to 3 tbs instant vanilla pudding
2 tbs liqueuer
1 pkg frozen puff pastry (defrosted)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry to a 10-by-15 inch rectangle. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Prick pastry all over with a fork. You cover completely with another sheet of parchment paper; weight with another baking sheet (same size or slightly smaller) to prevent pastry from puffing up unevenly. Bake, occasionally pressing top sheet down until pastry is golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Remove top sheet and parchment, and let pastry cool. Whip parve whipping cream. Slowly add parve instant vanilla pudding until thickened. Add flavoring. Spread whipped cream on 1 layer of cooled puff pastry and top with second layer. Freeze at this stage. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle melted choc chips to which you add 1 tb orange juice and 1 tb melted margarine. Cut into squares while still frozen. Place in paper muffin cups. It will crumble. Keep in freezer until a 1/2 hour before serving. Serve cold. Variation: Transfer pastry to cutting board. With a serrated knife, carefully trim and discard edges; cut in to 12 or more equal pieces.
