Stuffed CabbageCuisine: Pesach Category: Beef Servings: 8 Ingredients:1 lb ground beef1/4 uncooked rice 1 egg 1 chopped onion 1 carrot grated 1 cabbage head, placed in freezer 1/4 cup lemon juice, vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 cups tomato sauce or more to cover Instructions:Freeze whole cabbage head & defrost. The leaves will be soft & ready to use. Wash leaves & set aside. Process onion & carrot til chopped, add egg. Combine beef, rice, egg, onion & carrot. Mix well. Place a small amount of meat mixture on spine of cabbage leaf, fold over sides & roll up. Place side by side in large pot. Fit tightly together they will stay better. Cut leaves too small to roll up & add to pot. Blend tomato sauce, sugar, lemon juice, pour over cabbage. Cover & simmer for 1 1/2 hrs. Taste and adjust seasoning. Cool.
