Asparagus pan seared

Ingredients:

2 tbs olive oil
2 lbs asparagus med thick
3 cloves garlic
1 tbs margarine or butter
salt & pepper to taste
lemon


Instructions:

Thinly slice the garlic & add with the oil to cold 12" skillet. Turn on heat to med and slightly toast the garlic. When done remove garlic to paper towel & add butter. Clean break off part of stem from one asparagus and use as guide to cut the rest the same size. Place asparagus with tips to outside of pan and steam with covered lid for about 5 min. Uncover and raise heat to med high and brown them adding salt. When they are slightly brown plate them with the toasted garlic and a little lemon juice. Not tried.
