Ingredients:

4 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
2 x large eggs (rm temp)
10 oz water (115 degrees)
1 tbs dry yeast
1 egg


Instructions:

Follow machine directions & measure ingredients in order. After dough has risen. Knead on floured board for a min or two & let rest covered for 10 min. Shape as desired. Place on cookie sheet & cover with wet paper towel. Let rise in oven or any non drafty place. A bowl of hot water can be place on the lower rack underneath the rising chalah. Let rise for 45 min to 1 hr until double in bulk. If paper towel stick wet it slightly with wet fingers & remove. Heat oven to 350. Beat egg & brush on chalah. Bake for 30 to 35 min or till golden brown. Cool. Can be frozen. Makes to average chalahs & 3 small ones. Variation: To make pull-apart chalah. Grease 2 round pans (8") and make 3 inch balls, place them in pan next to each other until pan is loosely filled. Follow above recipe
